About us

Textiles for a sustainable future

A colleague once told me that when one is faced with a seemingly insurmountable problem, "you have to eat the elephant one mouthful at a time". That advice has stayed with me.
An Australian weebill, weighing feathers and all, just 6.5 grams, is the weight of one and a half teaspoons of sugar. In other words, it's just about a mouthful.
The textile waste crisis is a mammoth challenge, far larger than any one person can solve. But when we work together to keep textiles out of landfill, the impact is immense.
Every metre of textile that remains in use for longer, reduces the demand to produce more.
Depending on the fibre type, every metre of textile reused can save up to 20 litres of water and 1 kWh of energy, while preventing up to 1.2 kilograms of CO₂ from entering the atmosphere. And that's before considering the additional benefits of reduced chemical use, less microplastic pollution, lower habitat destruction, and decreased demand for virgin resource extraction.
This is why Weebill exists: to encourage collaboration and push back against textile overproduction. Funds generated through the marketplace support education, community workshops, and advocacy that challenge the culture of overproduction.
We don't need to make perfect choices; we simply need enough people willing to take small steps and be part of the solution. Every little "weebill" counts.
Please join us and become part of this grassroots movement.

Our Values

Keeping textiles in circulation

Every purchase extends the life of beautiful materials, reduces environmental impacts of waste and overproduction, and supports all creatives.

Sustainable Practice
We champion the reuse and circulation of textile. Landfill is a symptom of over-production, and by collectively using what we have for longer, we can reduce the demand for new textiles.
Real people
Every seller is a real person with a story. Either passionate or creative makers, or people that needs to move stashes on behalf of loved ones. Guilt free - if you no longer need it, it may become someone else's masterpiece.
No Hidden Fees
No subscriptions or listing fees. We only charge a service fee AFTER you have concluded a successful sale. Fair for everyone.
Quality Assured
Our marketplace is curated to ensure products are already in Australia. No drop shipping.
